Biomethane: which are best practices in Europe?
From the collection of relevant feedstocks to end-uses of biomethane, what can be learnt from the main European experiences? Pierre Hirtzberger, project coordinator of BIOGASMAX, will provide responses at the European Conference on Biomethane Fuel, 7th-9th of September in Göteborg. Come and join this major event on biomethane fuel!
BIOGASMAX project has implemented for 3 years cross-analysis, research and innovation developments on biomethane as a vehicle fuel. This conference will give a great focus on the outcomes brought from this EU-funded initiative. During the 2nd plenary session on the 8th of September, Pierre Hirtzberger will present key innovative actions carried out by the cities of Bern (Switzerland), Lille (France), Gôteborg, Stockholm (Sweden), Roma (Italy), Torun and Zielona Gora (Poland). How has Roma been setting up a large selective door-to-door collection of organic wastes? How has Bern succeeded to improve by 21% biomethane production in the same waste water treatment plant, with co-substrates based strategy? How has been developed grid injection in Sweden and green certificates in Switzerland? Which incentives are needed to expand biomethane use in vehicles? All these practices will be highlighted and discussed.
The Conference will give a unique occasion to learn also about the Life Cycle Analysis of the biomethane chain, with Jan-Paul Lindner, researcher at the University of Stuttgart who has worked from six demonstration sites as part of Biogasmax project. For those who has been involved in energy policies at the regional level, two key regional experiences will be also presented, with Bernt Svensén (Biogas Vast project, Sweden) and Paolo Mora (Lombardy Region, Italy).
And also training session, exhibition of gas vehicles, study tours ... Programme and registration here.
